Building connections and connecting communities in Central North East Saskatchewan

What are LIPS?

Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) are groups of community members, organizations, and stakeholders who come together to support newcomers settling in a specific region. They work together to identify the unique needs of newcomers and develop strategies to address those needs.

By collaborating, LIPs aim to create welcoming communities that are better equipped to help newcomers adapt to their new home by providing access to essential services, employment opportunities, and social connections. By working together, LIPs can enhance the overall settlement experience for newcomers, while also promoting social cohesion and economic growth within the community.

Our Settlement
Approach

Connecting Grids Regional Immigration Partnership (CGRIP) aims to engage rural voices in Central North East Saskatchewan through strong collaboration and a sense of belonging.

After research identified a need for coordination and collaboration amongst organizations and newcomers, the Local Immigration Partnership was established in the Humboldt Region in order for both parties to flourish.

Our Partnership Council

Our Partnership Council members are from different stakeholders and organizations within our region. Our Partnership Council works collaboratively with the Ethnocultural Advisory Table to agree upon our strategic plans to help fill in the gaps in services for newcomers and other minority groups.

Our Ethnocultural Advisory Table

The Ethnocultural Advisory Table (EAT) is a safe space for people from different cultural backgrounds and newcomers to collaborate while sharing their personal experiences and challenges. The EAT members provide the Partnership Council with input on immigration,  settlement, and what changes can be made to make the Central North East regions of Saskatchewan more welcoming.
